Part Time Firefighter
Fire District #1 of Leavenworth County is hiring Part-Time Firefighters.  Those hired will assist in
providing coverage between the hours of 7am and 7pm seven days a week, special events,
weather events and other times as needed.  Applicants filling these positions will be required to
work a minimum of three shifts per month.  The position requires skills and abilities in fire, EMS,
prevention, public education and delivering a high level of customer service.  A detailed job

Starting salary range:  $11.29 - $12.47 an hour DOQ/E

The minimum requirements for Part-Time Firefighter are:

1.        High school diploma or GED.
2.        Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record.
3.        Kansas Certified Emergency Medical Responder required.  Emergency Medical Technician
    Certification in the State of KS or National Registry preferred.
4.        Kansas Firefighter I & II certification or equivalent (International Fire Service Accreditation
    Congress (IFSAC) or Pro Board) required and have satisfactory progress with the ongoing
    competencies and requirements of the equivalent of National Fire Protection Association
    (NFPA) 1001 Professional Firefighter Qualifications, NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials
    Competencies for the First Responder at the Operational Level.
5.        Driver / Operator certification preferred or have the ability to obtain within one-year of
6.        Must have and maintain a current certification by an agency recognized by the State of
    Kansas in Healthcare Provider CPR/AED.
7.        NIMS ICS certification to the ICS 200 along with IS 700 and 800.

extended a medical physical, drug screening and pre-employment criminal background check will
be completed.
