This fire occurred at the Lansing Historical Society’s local museum. It proved to be a very tenacious fire
that was confined to the attic of the structure, a large amount of water and time was needed to
extinguish this one. Mutual aide was provided by
Fairmount TWP and Leavenworth City Fire
Departments. Due to a very aggressive salvage operation very little damage was caused to any of the
artifacts that were stored inside of the building. Assistance with the salvage operation was provided by
Lansing Public Works and the Lansing Correctional Facility.
